Form Factor unites the Spectacle through the dynamic beauty of fluid in motion and of light shifting through time. These phenomena are explored in ways that react with the physical shapes and dimensions of the LED displays while creating a sense of continuity as colors ebb, flow, and synchronize through space.
“Time Slice” explores the passage of time, with visions of Macau and Hong Kong incrementally revealed through shimmering animations. “Flow” features billowing explosions of ink pouring gradually across the Spectacle screens, synchronized in choreographed motion. The hyperreal “Spectacle Waterfall” magically transforms the displays into liquid, resulting in the captivating experience of being surrounded by cascading waterworks.
Two pieces celebrate Kew Gardens: one that brings a special collection of archival Chinese illustrations to life through animation, the other a curated set of seeds and pollen captured using scanning electron microscopy, highlighted in stunning color and scale.
