MGM is actively supporting the Macao SAR Government’s efforts to revitalize community businesses by participating in initiatives that encourage visitors to explore Macau’s distinct communities. As part of the government’s “Tourism and Leisure Bus Program: Exploring the Charm of Neighborhoods”, MGM will launch a free shuttle service on Saturdays and Sundays starting April 25. Departing from MGM COTAI, the service will connect visitors with several districts across Macau, helping direct foot traffic into local districts and drive spending at small and medium-sized businesses. Through this initiative, MGM aims to make getting around the city easier for visitors while encouraging them to discover Macau’s historic neighborhoods and experience the city’s distinctive local culture up close.

At designated times, MGM will operate community shuttle routes serving the ZAPE district, Anim’Arte NAM VAN, Rotunda de Carlos da Maia, Iao Hon, Barra, Pagode do Bazar, and Patane. To support the program, MGM has also prepared promotional leaflets featuring sightseeing, dining, and retail offers available near each stop. These materials are designed to encourage visitors to discover local specialties, as well as Portuguese restaurants, neighborhood cafés, and gift shops near each stop, while experiencing firsthand Macau’s rich cultural mix and its appeal as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. MGM hopes the program will give local merchants greater exposure, support business growth in the community, and extend the benefits of tourism to more small and medium-sized enterprises

MGM will also partner with merchants along the shuttle routes to offer riders dining perks and shopping discounts. More than 30 merchants are already participating, including Asia Technique & Computer Network Co., Ltd., Artsy Cake Studio, Baba’s Kitchen, Barra Cafe, Bread Station, Café Super Mario, Charming Gourmet Cafe, Choi Heong Yuen Bakery Macau (MGM COTAI, Border Gate, and Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro), D’light Dessert Cafe, Estabelecimento De Comidas Portuguesa Porto Exterior, Estabelecimento De Comidas Heng Wong Fat, FILL CAFÉ, Golden Mix Dessert (Patane), Healthy Life Pharmacy (Wing Neng and Wai Tak), Ho Ho Diner, Horizon Café, Kam Hou Seafood Hot Pots Court, Macau Chadong, October Fifth Bakery, O-moon Company Limited, Reesé Coffee (Tai Fung Plaza and Rotunda de Carlos da Maia), Restaurant Litoral Ltd., Tak Ut Hin, Tong Vu Seafood Hot Pot Restaurant (ZAPE and Grand Emperor Hotel), Va Luen, and 108 Tea Craft. MGM will continue expanding the network of participating merchants and offers in support of the broader effort to draw visitors into local communities.

As an integrated resort operator rooted in Macau, MGM has long supported government measures that strengthen the connection between tourism and local communities. The Company also continues to create new cultural and travel experiences for visitors, helping reinforce Macau’s position as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure while working with community partners to support the development of appropriate economic diversification.
