To celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France in 2014, MGM actively promoted the development of the jubilant arts festival,“Le French May 2014” arts festival in Asia by exclusively sponsoring the Biennial of the Lions, which made its debut appearance in the region. MGM presented 50 colorful, unique lion sculptures dressed elaborately by 50 French and Chinese artists. These artworks were displayed throughout MGM’s public spaces, marking the beginning of a cultural journey inspired by the artistry of the lion.

Originally native to Africa, Lion is introduced to China via the Silk Roads and gradually became an auspiciousness guardian of good fortune, captivating cultural charm between East meets West.
