Edgar Degas: Figures in Motion Exhibition

A time-travel journey to 19th century France, when Degas was creating impressionist style masterpieces. Explore a rare collection of his work. The exhibition showcased a collection of 74 bronze sculptures never before shown in Asia, including the celebrated Little Dancer, Aged Fourteen.

Valkyrie Octopus

MGM MACAU exhibited the monumental installation “Valkyrie Octopus”, created by the world-renowned contemporary Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos, at Grande Praça! Promoting diversified cultural exchanges between China and Portugal, this inspiring and visionary art installation also enhances Macau’s allure as a top global tourist and cultural destination.

Saudade

MGM MACAU presented “Saudade” Art Exhibition, a brand new exhibition featuring more than 40 art pieces from 12 Portuguese artists from Macau, this event aimed to promote local arts and culture. This exhibition offered the artists a platform to acknowledge the memory of their own roots, embracing and integrating them as a vibrant part of the city of Macau. The imagery, style and diversity of the art works conveyed how the impact of Chinese inspiration and Portuguese Saudade blends into Macau culture.

Red Sandalwood Art Exhibition

MGM Art Space aims at promoting public interest in enjoyment of art and culture with world-class high art, thus reinforcing Macau’s status as an international city where globally influential artworks are appreciated, interpreted and studied. China’s 5,000 years of civilization reflects the nation’s extensive and profound achievements. Among these are compelling cultural traditions like red sandalwood carvings, a sophisticated form of workmanship regarded as one of China’s most important heritage. To commemorate the 15th Anniversary of Macau S.A.R. Establishment Day and to inherit traditional Chinese culture, MGM MACAU is honored to invite representatives of the China Red Sandalwood Museum to present the ‘MGM MACAU • Red Sandalwood Art Exhibition of Old Beijing City Gates’. By reinventing the ancient charm of old Beijing city through sublime red sandalwood craftsmanship, the MGM Art Space hopes to inspire diversified art development and to foster cultural exchange between Macau and her motherland.

Biennial of the Lions

Honoring the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and France, the “Biennial of the Lions” is finally roaring to life with the unveiling of the 50 lion sculptures! A special event was held at MGM MACAU on July 10. Many celebrities and socialites were in attendance to celebrate the arrival of the 50 lion sculptures. MGM Art Space also proudly presents a special exhibition, “MGM・Biennial of the Lions – Beyond the Roar”, an extension of the “Biennial of the Lions” that takes visitors on an appreciation journey through the two great cultures via multimedia presentations and photographs.

Botticelli’s Venus: The Life and Times of a Goddess

MGM MACAU inaugurated its new “MGM Art Space” with the exhibition, “Botticelli’s Venus: The Life and Times of a Goddess”, on December 20, 2013. The exhibition featured Botticelli’s Venus, an enduring masterpiece put on display for the first time in Macau. The exhibition won positive reviews from students, the community and tourists, and received more than 42,000 visitors during its three-month run, offering each of them a unique art experience that inspires imagination and fosters creativity.

Chinese New Year 2014

MGM MACAU welcomed the Year of the Horse with a spectacle of colors, flavors and excitement! The lion dance blessing ceremony, mermaid shows and Chinese New Year Bazaar stalls were some of the festivities being offered.

The Best Ever MGM Oktoberfest

Closing out its sixth year, MGM Oktoberfest 2014 was the biggest and wildest one yet! Munich's famed festival was celebrated in true fashion at VISTA II with authentic German food, steins of Spaten beer, rousing songs from the Högl Fun band as well as traditional oompah music and other dynamic entertainment that helped make this the finest event so far! The Authentic Oktoberfest Experience

Now on its fifth year, MGM Oktoberfest has firmly established itself as the most authentic and iconic beerfest in town. This year’s celebration saw more than 20,000 revelers enjoying German beer, special food, live entertainment and a party atmosphere. That is 35% more than last year’s. During the ten-day celebration, MGM MACAU served 20,634 liters of Löwenbräu beer, 4,200 kilograms of pork knuckles, 2,000 kilograms of spring chickens and 2,220 kilograms of sausages. All figures broke previous records. Thanks again for all your great support and see you all at the MGM Oktoberfest 2014!

Butterfly Garden is for everyone

Celebrate the season with a walk through the beautiful Butterfly Garden presented by MGM MACAU. Adorned inside the Grande Praça is a kaleidoscope of 160 glass butterflies hovering above an indoor garden and surrounding the breathtaking cylindrical MGM Aquarium. It is the perfect destination for quality time and picture perfect moments with family and friends.

Musical Journey

Walk into MGM, listening to the faint sounds of music echoing the halls, originating from maestro of musicians in the Grande Praça. The fusion of sounds combine into the true blue underwater musical experience with the likes of smooth jazz to a harmonious ensemble awaits in the month long musical journey.

GLORIOUS CHINA, AUSPICIOUS MACAU – WANG KAIFANG’S GOLD BRICK EXHIBITION

Experience the juxtaposition of beauty and imagination. MGM MACAU and One Central Macau proudly presented the distinctive “Glorious China, Auspicious Macau” Gold Brick Exhibition by prominent crossover designer and artist, Wang Kaifang. The exhibition featured 12 pieces, most of which were rarely seen outside of Mainland China, layered in 24-carat gold to create a glittering atmosphere of fortune and luxury.

The Magic of Butterfly Reinvention at MGM MACAU 2012

The MGM Butterfly Pavilion magically blends the wonder of nature into a decidedly modern art piece by US designer Stephen Stefanou. As the main attraction of The Magic of Butterfly Reinvention at MGM MACAU, the pavilion’s official opening in May was accompanied by an original music score by Vincent Liauw.The exhibition has attracted more than 300,000 visitors.
