June 24 - MGM Proudly Presents Two Guest Chef Collaborations for the ‘Maritime Silk Road Culinary Art Feast’ in July

Showcasing the Regional Chinese Culinary Cultures of Ningbo and Guangdong

[June 24, 2025, Macau] Building on Macau’s global reputation as a ‘Creative City of Gastronomy’, MGM continues the ‘Gastronomic Journey with Star Chefs’ series through new collaborations to highlight the cultural significance of China’s regional cuisines. Following the resounding success of the first “Maritime Silk Road Culinary Art Feast” in April, MGM is set to continue with more themed culinary collaborations in July, with two of China’s top culinary masters from Ningbo and Guangdong – Weng Yongjun and Liang Jianyu. These renowned chefs will join forces with the culinary teams of Five Foot Road and Chún at MGM COTAI to host gastronomic feasts which celebrate the history, culture and the arts from the Maritime Silk Road with a modern twist. Guests will embark on a journey of discovery into China’s diverse gastronomic culture and the unique characteristics of the nation’s regional cuisines, which are filled with colorful stories composed by spices, cooking techniques and tea culture.

Yong Fu x Five Foot Road

From July 4 to 5, Five Foot Road at MGM COTAI will welcome Weng Yongjun, the founder of Yong Fu Restaurant Group to collaborate with Executive Sous Chef - Yang Dengquan of MGM COTAI to host the second edition of the ‘Maritime Silk Road Culinary Art Feast’. Together, the two culinary maestros will orchestrate a masterful dining experience at Five Foot Road where the cuisines of Ningbo and Sichuan engage in conversation on the plate.

Devoting much of his life toward elevating Ningbo cuisine on the global stage, Chef Weng has established the acclaimed Yong Fu restaurant brand all across China, with many restaurants successfully attaining Michelin-starred status. Yong Fu, Shanghai has also recently received the ‘Three-Diamond Restaurant’ honor from the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide in 2024 and 2025. In Macau, Five Foot Road at MGM COTAI has garnered one Michelin star for three consecutive years under the extraordinary leadership of Chef Yang, a second-generation inheritor of traditional Chengdu Mansion Cuisine. The collaborative menu in July will feature signature dishes from both chefs including the acclaimed Sautéed Australian Lobster with Pickled Chili and Celery from Chef Yang and the Braised 16 Heads of South Africa Abalone with Black Bean Sauce from Chef Weng. The two chefs will also jointly create a Steamed White Pomfret in Lychee Flavor dish which combines the Sichuan lychee flavor with the ingredients and techniques of Ningbo cuisine to showcase their exceptional culinary skills. The eight-course dinner is priced at MOP2,900* per guest (inclusive of wine and tea pairing).

Fa Sing Garden x Chún

From July 25 to 26, Executive Chef Liang Jianyu of Fa Sing Garden, Guangzhou will collaborate with Executive Chef - Chinese, Tam Yim Chan from Chún.
