Following its debut at MGM MACAU in April, the “HAHALULU x MGM Trendy Art Exhibition” has expanded to the “MGM × HAHALULU × One Central Macau Trend Art Exhibition”, running from May through August 31. MGM, One Central Macau, and the Macao International Brand Enterprise Commercial Association have joined forces to extend the HAHALULU experience from MGM MACAU to One Central Macau, bringing the appeal of this Eastern trendy art IP to a wider audience with multifaceted experience of “Culture + Tourism + Commerce”.
HAHALULU was conceived and created by internationally renowned creator Dennis Chan, founder of Qeelin. With decades of deep engagement with traditional Eastern culture, Dennis draws inspiration from the gourd, a classic symbol of good fortune in Chinese tradition, blending it with contemporary aesthetic language to create a distinctive and innovative cultural icon beloved by younger generations.
New Exhibits starting from May
With the exhibition’s latest upgrade, the MGM MACAU Grande Praça has newly add exhibits as well. Four “Crystal LULU” figures have made a stunning debut, namely: the auspicious “Golden Blessing Light”, the spirited and unrestrained “Radiant Light”, the sharply edged “Sculpted Shadow Light”, as well as the sweet and romantic “Aegean Light”. Each is adorned with uniquely crafted colorful patterns, collectively interpreting a magnificent dialogue between tradition and modernity amidst the interplay of light and shadow. The “Crystal LULU” series is meticulously handcrafted by artisans using the snow-setting technique to assemble thousands of crystals one by one, showcasing an extraordinary combination of complex craftsmanship.
The widely acclaimed “Masters Tribute Series” paintings have been upgraded to the precious original oil-on-canvas works, allowing visitors to experience the artist’s delicate expression from his brushwork at close range. In addition, playful sculptures and paintings such as “The Wutai Mountain Fortune & Blessing Map” and “Fu Lu Shou" are also awaiting discovery by visitors.
The atrium of One Central Macau, adjacent to MGM MACAU, has also been transformed into a new HAHALULU destination. Standing approximately 3.4 meters tall, the “HAHALULU Wishing Gourd Tree” features four-colored gourds symbolizing health, wealth, love and career, extending sincere blessings to everyone. Another popular highlight is the “HAHALULU Mirror”, a translucent gourd-shaped mirror installation, with frame lighting adjustable in four colored tones—pink, blue, yellow, and green, which creates a dreamlike backdrop for guests to capture memorable moments.
Limited-Edition HAHALULU Merchandise and Themed Dining Offers
In response to the popularity for HAHALULU-themed desserts and beverages, MGM MACAU’s Pastry Bar has introduced additional savory options, adding greater variety to the overall dining experience. The restaurant also features a limited-time merchandise retail zone, offering a variety of exclusive HAHALULU-themed items including T-shirts, cushions, handbags, and figurines.
Guests are cordially invited to embark on an artistic journey filled with blessings and joy with HAHALULU.

About HAHALULU
The acclaimed Eastern art and trend IP, HAHALULU, was created by internationally renowned creator Dennis Chan, founder of Qeelin. With decades of deep engagement with traditional Eastern culture, Chan possesses a profound understanding of the rich heritage of Chinese culture as well as the demands of contemporary aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from the gourd—a classic symbol of good fortune in Chinese tradition—he has crafted this highly distinctive and innovative cultural IP. In traditional culture, the gourd embodies the auspicious meanings of “blessings, protection, life, and joy.” It is a universally recognized symbol of good fortune, enjoying widespread popularity and cultural resonance. Chan broke away from the static, conventional depiction of the gourd, endowing it with lively eyes and a vibrant expression. This transformation turns HAHALULU into an “innocent child” awakened from a millennia-old cultural lineage, conveying a core message of pure joy and healing. By preserving the essence of Eastern culture while integrating contemporary trends, HAHALULU has rapidly become a phenomenal Eastern art toy IP. With its unique cultural core and adorable appearance, HAHALULU has captured countless hearts. It has previously toured major mainland Chinese cities, including Beijing, Xiamen, Hefei, Dunhuang, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, sparking a nationwide craze and going viral on social media. HAHALULU stands as a classic example of how traditional Chinese culture can be revitalized for a younger generation and shared on an international stage.
