이 설치 작품의 원형은 레지던시 공연 Macau 2049으로 부터 탄생했습니다.  약 1년에 걸친 정교한 설계와 다듬질 끝에 탄생한 이 “사자”는 고대 중국의 옥 공예, 이집트 조각상, 그리고 현대의 픽셀 미학 등 전 세계의 다양한 문화적 요소를 미세한 부분까지 섬세하게 융합해 낸 결과물입니다. 3,988개의 ‘골드 브릭’ 픽셀로 구성되어 있으며, 첨단 제어 시스템과 데이터 프로그래밍을 통해 각 픽셀이 유기적으로 뒤집히는 정교한 기계적 움직임(Mechanical Flipping)을 구현합니다.
