He is well-versed in using simple lines to transform everyday objects, including light bulbs, stones, and fruit, into a humorous contemporary artwork. Only with a few strokes can he precisely capture expressive scenes of life, and convey a sense of humour and pure childlike joy. ‘The Magic of Lines: Serge Bloch’s Wonderland of Picture Books’ reimagines the whimsical world of French artist Serge Bloch. It uses vibrant lines and a rich palette to create a playful space infused with innocence and freedom for children and adults.
The exhibition extends from ·Art Space to the Barra District and is divided into 10-plus topics. It is more than just a display. It is a vibrant, creative playground. Extended Picture Book Workshop:
In Serge Bloch picture books, he is both like a curious child constantly asking adults questions and a big brother leading children to explore the real world through play. His works are often composed of simple lines, and although the painting style seems childlike, it contains profound life propositions. The Extended Picture Book Workshop focuses on 16 of Bloch's picture books. Each session centers on one picture book as the theme, and through warm-up interactions, theme games, storytime, and small crafts, children can enter Bloch's world of lines amid joyful laughter.
