Reveal the Next Great Lion – The 12th MGM Junior Lion Dance Summer Class 2026

“MGM Lion Dance Championship 2026 Annual Spectacle” is heating up and kicking off with the MGM Junior Lion Dance Summer Class 2026, calling all 5-8-year-olds to join!

 For the past 12 years, we have encouraged kids to step beyond the classroom and explore their talents through sports and cultural experiences. This year, MGM partners with the Wushu General Association of Macau as co-organizer, bringing professional guidance and cultural perspectives to help kids better understand and appreciate Lingnan Lion Dance culture in an engaging and interactive learning environment.

The seven-week course will be held in Barra District, where students learn the traditional art in a historic cultural area. The course covers basic lion dance steps, basic steps and formations, and the use of props and musical instruments. A showcase session is also included, allowing students to experience the joy of learning lion dance and growth, participants will gradually build confidence and teamwork, and present their learning outcomes on different stages, continuing the vitality and inheritance of lion dance culture.

Event Details:

• Age: aged 5 to 8 (Eligible between 16 July 2017 and 15 July 2021)
• Class Period: 15 July to 28 August 2026 (Former Slaughterhouse Site - Barra District)
• Class Schedule: To be announced (2 sessions per week, 1.5 hours each, for a total of 14 sessions)
• Graduation Ceremony: 30 August 2026 (Attendance required for successfully registered students)
• Fee: Free of charge
• Availability: Should the number of applications exceed the intended capacity (175 pax), a randomized computer draw will select successful applicants 

Registration process:

Application Period: 21 May to 4 June 2026

Computer Draw Result Notification: 9 June 2026 (Selected participants will be invited by email to choose their class session. At that time, participants must submit a copy of the Body Check Result issued by a registered medical practitioner, or opt for the “Paperless Health Declaration”, in order to be eligible to participate.)

Quota confirmation: After class allocation, parents or guardians must confirm the place via email to complete the registration process.
