The Dancing Lion: Rise of Good Fortune

The prototype of the installation comes from “Macau 2049”, the first residency directed by Zhang Yimou in Macau. Crafted over a year of meticulous design and refinement, the lion weaves together diverse cultural elements, including ancient Chinese jade, ancient Egyptian sculpture, and pixel aesthetics, integrating both ancient and modern influences. The installation, comprising 3,988 gold bricks, employs advanced control systems and data programming to execute the mechanical flipping matrix and dynamic graphic displays.
