"Writing has been, since ancient times, the concrete manifestation of knowledge - simultaneously ancient and fresh, constantly evolving with the times." Collected Letters is a monumental installation by leading Chinese artist Liu Jianhua for the MGM Chairman’s Collection, inspired by Jingdezhen’s rich porcelain heritage. Known as the “Porcelain Capital,” Jingdezhen has long been celebrated for its exquisite craftsmanship and its role in cultural exchange through the Silk and Ceramic Roads. Honoring this legacy, Liu collaborated with twenty artisans over five months, the work comprises over 3,000 porcelain pieces, suspended to form Chinese characters and English letters. This innovative display reimagines traditional ceramic art with contemporary aesthetics, celebrating the fusion of East and West and affirming the timeless value and boundless possibilities of ceramics.
